Born Sheryl Suzanne Crow on February 11, 1962, in Kennett, Missouri, U.S., she has had a successful career in the music industry and continues to captivate audiences with her soulful voice and meaningful lyrics.

Early Life and Rise to Fame

Growing up in a musical family, Sheryl Crow developed a love for music early on in her life. She pursued her passion and eventually graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in music composition, performance, and education. Crow’s career began as a backup singer for renowned artists like Michael Jackson and Don Henley before she gained prominence as a solo artist with her debut album “Tuesday Night Music Club” in 1993.

Family Life and Relationships

Throughout her life, Crow has had several high-profile romantic relationships, including with musician Eric Clapton and actor Owen Wilson. She was even engaged to cyclist Lance Armstrong in 2005, but the couple announced their split in February 2006. Crow has since focused on building a family through adoption. In 2007, she adopted her first son, and in 2010, she adopted another boy. Today, Crow and her sons reside in West Nashville, Tennessee, while she also owns a home in Destin, Florida.

Health Issues and Battles

In 2006, Crow was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), a non-invasive form of breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy and seven weeks of radiation therapy. Following her battle with breast cancer, Crow partnered with her surgeon, Dr. Kristi Funk, to open the Sheryl Crow Imaging Center at Funk’s Pink Lotus Breast Center in 2010.

Later, in November 2011, Crow was diagnosed with a meningioma, a benign brain tumor. She continues to have regular follow-up exams to monitor her condition. In addition to her physical health issues, Crow has also dealt with depression throughout her life.

Awards and Honorary Degrees

Sheryl Crow’s talent and contributions to the music industry have been widely recognized. She has been awarded honorary doctorates from the University of Missouri and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. In 2006, Crow received the American Academy of Achievement’s Golden Plate Award, presented by Steven Spielberg.
