Kenny Easterday, full name Kenneth Easterday, was born on December 7, 1973, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S. He was diagnosed with a rare disability called sacral agenesis, which led to his legs being amputated at the hip when he was only six months old. The amputations were carried out in two stages, with the first surgery using his shin bones to replace his missing spinal column. At the time, doctors expected him to live only six months to a year. However, at six months old, Easterday underwent a final amputation surgery, removing the rest of his legs at the hips.
